I'm Mithila (mee·thee·luh), an Assistant Professor or Marketing at the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics at San José State University. I received my Ph.D. in Quantitative Marketing with a minor in Computer Science from Drexel University, PA in 2023.

As an empirical quantitative marketing researcher, I'm passionate about exploring the exciting intersection of marketing and data analytics. My research revolves around analyzing social media datasets using applied econometric modeling, text analytics, and machine learning. Specifically, I delve into firms' strategies for online activism and purpose-driven social media campaigns. My research interests encompass digital and social media marketing, brand management, and text analytics.

I'm proud to have been recognized for my work in the field, and I was honored with the Best In Track Award at the 2022 Summer AMA for my research on the Digital & Social Media Marketing Track.
