I'm Mithila Guha (mee·thee·luh Gu·haw), currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Department of Marketing and Business Analytics at San José State University. I earned my Ph.D. in Quantitative Marketing with a minor in Computer Science from Drexel University, PA in 2023.
As an empirical quantitative marketing researcher, I am fueled by a passion for the dynamic intersection of marketing and data analytics. My research is centered on the analysis of social media datasets using applied econometric modeling, text analytics, and machine learning. Specifically, I focus on unraveling firms' strategies for online activism and purpose-driven social media campaigns. My research interests extend to digital and social media marketing, brand management, and text analytics. I am honored to have received recognition for my contributions to the field, including the prestigious Best In Track Award at the 2022 Summer AMA for my research on the Digital & Social Media Marketing Track.
